Hey everyone, welcome back to Life with the Kuangs!

This is William, and today we’re sharing our visit to Great Smoky Mountains National Park — part of our road trip to Tybee Island, Georgia. It was such a refreshing stop, especially with all the beautiful waterfalls in the park.

We stayed at a Hampton Hotel in Gatlinburg, located right behind a peaceful creek. Our room had a little balcony where we could sit and listen to the stream flowing — a simple but amazing experience I won’t forget.

After checking in, we headed into Great Smoky Mountains National Park and stopped by the visitor center. From there, we drove over to hike the Laurel Falls Trail, a relatively easy 2-mile round trip hike. The trail had a slight incline and a few narrow sections near the edge of the mountain, but it was manageable.

When we reached Laurel Falls, the view was absolutely stunning! We were able to walk right up to the waterfall and even touch the water. From our vantage point, we could also see a dramatic drop to another waterfall in the distance — it was breathtaking.

After the hike, we returned to Gatlinburg and visited the SkyBridge, which is known as the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the United States. Walking across it from one mountain ridge to the other was such a cool experience. At the center of the bridge, there’s a glass floor section where you can look straight down — it really shows how high up you are! The views of the Smoky Mountains from up there were incredible.

For dinner, we went to Best Italian on the Parkway. We had garlic knots, spaghetti with meatballs, and lasagna — classic comfort food, and absolutely delicious.

Gatlinburg is a super family-friendly town, with lots of attractions, games, museums, and food options right on the main street. There’s something for everyone, and we had such a great time.
